Canolfan Ceiriog Centre

The Ceiriog Canter

Saturday 11th October 2014

We had a good turn out this year with a 66 runners and some impressive times. John Bowie’s old course record that had stood for three years was beaten by a number of runners. Lloyd Taggart, O40M, MFR, was first home with a time of 42.43, beating the previous course record by a full four minutes. Andrea Rowlands, O40F, Eryri, successfully defended and beat her own female record with a time of 51.26.
The weather was variable and most runners made it back before the rain showers. Apart from a few gorse scratches everyone made it back in one piece. Overall a good day was had by all.
We would like to thank the marshals for their help and for looking after everyone so well. A special thanks goes to the Spa in Glyn Ceiriog and Chirk for their very generous donations towards the prizes, also to The Oak Y Dderwen pub in Glyn Ceiriog. Photos will be displayed on the website canolfanceiriog.org. We would like to thank everyone for coming, all the money raised goes towards the running costs of the community centre. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Diolch yn Fawr.
